Lighted Magnifying Mirrors for the Bath
There are several different variations of magnifying mirrors. Lately, the trend has been towards lighted magnifying mirrors, and there are three specific types of lighted magnifying mirrors that you can choose from.
The first is incandescent light mirrors. These mirrors are characterized by the use of incandescent bulbs. The wolfram filament produces both heat and light as the electrical current passes through it. These are typical everyday low-cost bulbs.
The second option is fluorescent light mirrors, which use compact fluorescent tubes. The electrical current passes through a plasma which is generated by mercury atoms. These atoms rebound off the walls of the tubes, which are coated with phosphorous, and in doing so, create light. Not much heat is generated by these low-energy bulbs. These mirrors are ideal for public places.
LED lighted mirrors are the third option. LED mirrors are more efficient and save energy. The LED itself is an electronic semiconductor element where light is generated when the electric current passes through. These mirrors can have a life utilization of 60,000 hours and produces much less heat than the other options. Also, because of the LED technology, the mirrors themselves tend to be flatter or thinner. Obviously, the LED mirrors tend to be a bit more expensive but there are a wide range of prices for magnifying mirrors. You can get a decent one for as little as $100, but the really beautiful magnifying mirrors range anywhere from $500 to $2,000, depending on what you want. A good value for a magnifying mirror is in the $700 dollar range. You can choose between many different finishes such as chrome, satin nickel, gold plated, or rustic brushed brass.
